Adroit Ballarat’s Spooktacular Event for Make-A-Wish
Adroit Ballarat recently hosted a Halloween-themed morning tea, filled with spooky treats, Halloween trivia, and a thrilling pumpkin carving competition. This festive event supported Make-A-Wish’s Hallowish initiative, a fundraising effort dedicated to granting wishes for children facing life-threatening illnesses.
For nearly 40 years, Make-A-Wish has been bringing magical moments to children who need it most. Contributions from community events like Adroit Ballarat’s help ensure that this mission continues, allowing Make-A-Wish to create experiences that inspire joy, strength, and hope for kids and their families.
One story that highlights the impact of Make-A-Wish’s work is that of Aroha, a young girl who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia just before Halloween in 2016. Instead of enjoying the holiday in costume, Aroha began her first round of chemotherapy, a challenging journey that replaced her Halloween costume with a hospital gown. Despite the difficulties of treatment, Aroha stayed committed to bringing a smile to those around her, showing remarkable resilience in the face of adversity.
Events like these demonstrate the power of community support, bringing people together to make a difference.
