2023 tee’d off to a great start with our three biggest Adroit community events, The Adroit Charity Golf Days, taking place in Geelong, Ballarat and Albury. Each day is special and unique, supporting a need within the local community that will make a lasting impact on the region. Read on for the highlights of each event:
20th Adroit Insurance & Risk Geelong Charity Golf Day
The 20th Adroit Insurance and Risk Geelong Charity Golf Day took place on Thursday 2nd March 2023 at 13th Beach Golf Links, Barwon Heads. It was another fantastic day where local businesses came together to support a worthy local cause.
$97,000 was raised at the event, with $75,000 funding the Adroit Insurance and Risk capital grant and the balance going to Adroit’s Community partner The Geelong Community Foundation.
The Adroit Insurance and Risk capital grant of $75,000 was awarded to The Power In You Project to refurbish a shed space for their program.
The Power In You Project support participants, who have been affected by substance, mental health or justice-related challenges, in taking back control of their lives by reducing or removing negative influences, inspiring hope, increasing self-worth and helping to establish meaningful connections.
The Power In You Project founder Kane Nuttall says that, when complete, the shed located in Fyans Street, South Geelong, will offer an inclusive space for program participants to work on their personal challenges and become positive contributing members of the community.
“We are so thankful to be the recipient of the $75,000 capital grant which will help to transform our shed into an incredible new space for our participants.” Kane says.
Adroit Insurance & Risk and Ballarat Health Services Foundation Golf Day
On Friday 24th March 2023 the 12th annual Adroit Insurance & Risk and Ballarat Health Services Foundation Charity Day was held at Midlands Golf Club. Teams came out in force, regardless of the weather, to enjoy a great day out on the course.
We were delighted to have raised over $35,000 on the day and thanks to the generosity of the Ballarat Health Services Foundation this amount was doubled to a total of over $70,000.
The funds will be instrumental in helping replace the infant resuscitation cots in the Emergency Department and the Operating Theatre of Ballarat Base Hospital. The current equipment dates back to 2000 and with advanced technology, the new cots will be able to provide more accurate readings. This will assist the staff in a more immediate assessment of the baby. Monitoring breathing and temperature, making the baby as calm as possible.
“The financial success is mirrored in the popularity of the event – with the largest number of major sponsors, a full complement of teams, and over 30 local businesses donating auction items, prizes and in-kind gifts. The golf day is an important event in our social and fundraising calendars, and we look forward to many more years of partnership with Adroit Insurance & Risk”. Adroit Insurance & Risk Border Trust Community Foundation Charity Golf Day
On Friday 28th April, the team in Albury held their annual community golf day at Corowa Golf Club in support of the Border Trust Foundation. The funds raised from the Golf Day are used for various community projects in the Albury and Wodonga Region. This year the event raised over $13,150 for the Border Trust.
“The Border Trust Foundation encourages individuals, families, businesses, and other organisations to make donations to meet these needs, now and in the future”. Said Ian Kay, Managing Principal at Adroit Insurance & Risk Albury.
Now in its 11th Year, the day has raised over $100,000 for the local community. These funds have been directed to projects selected from applications through a community grants program for local causes. We are proud of our achievements and grateful to be back out making a difference.
