Albury/Wodonga Border Trust Update
Adroit Insurance and Risk has generously supported Border Trust in one way or another almost since the very beginning of our philanthropic journey in 2005. Our community foundation is 100% local, and independent, on a mission to establish a perpetual and substantial fund that benefits our local community. We rely on partnerships from businesses like Adroit to help us get there. www.bordertrust.org.au
The Adroit Insurance and Risk Charity Golf Day kicked off in 2013 and has continued year on year, (with a notable COVID exception) raising close to $100,000 in that time. These funds contribute to our organisational capacity and allow us to focus on our core purpose – to enable local people to shape the future of their community. This support has been invaluable to our success, with over $3,000,000 injected back into our local community sector through our Giving and Granting Programs.
But it doesn’t stop there. Their involvement flows through to almost everything else we do, always ready to contribute to a specific fundraising cause like the 2019/2020 Bushfire Fund, the Back-to-School Program or our Collective Giving Campaign, Give500.
In fact, they are wonderful ambassadors for Give500: a campaign aimed to highlight unmet needs in our local community, to increase involvement in philanthropy across the region and support life-changing programs. $500 = 1 vote at the annual Pitch and Vote night which in 2021, Adroit used as a team building exercise, working together to select their preferred project from the 3 shortlisted organisations. From that, one of Adroit’s staff members has taken the next step and become a member of the Give500 donor committee, assessing applications to reach the all-important shortlist.
Each year, Adroit participate in our annual showcase event, the Big Give. The Named Sub Fund they established back in 2007 distributes a grant to a local charitable organization and they are active participants in that selection process. It is hands-on giving, directed and targeted: a reflection of our shared values and commitment to the wellbeing of our region.
We hope to see you at the 2023 annual Charity Golf Day, in Corowa for the very first time. It is sure to be another wonderful event. We thank all players and sponsors and of course, Adroit for everything they do to make it happen. We feel stronger with Adroit Insurance and Risk by our side. And that is something we value both as an organization and on behalf of our broader community.
